JAMMU, Sept 1: Rotary Club Jammu today organized a plantation drive at Eye Hospital in village Raya in Jammu.
The drive was held under the leadership of president Rotary Club Jammu, Vinay Kapoor. The programme began with the plantation drive where members of the club planted the sapling of different varieties of trees. During the drive more than 100 saplings were planted by the club members.
Addressing the gathering, Vinay Kapoor said, “To minimize the increasing effects of global warming, the best and easy way is to grow more and more plants. In this regard there is need for more awareness and plantation drives to spread the message of its importance for the survival of humankind’’.
He further informed the members of club that more plantation drives would be organised in future.
Among others participated in the drive were Subash Gandotra, Pardeep Jain, Sunil Jain, Dr Dushyant, Raman Sherpuri, Jatinder Gandok, Jaswant Rai, Vijay Sharma, BR Chandan, Deepak, VK Mehra and the priest of temple.
