Roop Nagar residents’ plea to JMC Commissioner

JAMMU, Mar 23: A meeting of Upper Roop Nagar, Sector 4 Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Narinder Sharma, for discussing the cleanliness of the locality.
The meet lamented that despite payment of scavenging charges, Safaikaramcharis were not visiting the area regularly with the result that drains remain choked for days together while heaps of garbage were lying here and there. In absence of garbage bins, people throw house wastage in vacant plots while most of the street lights in lanes and bye-lanes in sector number 4, 5 and 6 were not functional, the resident alleged
The meet urged the Jammu Municipal commissioner Soujnya Sharma to personally assess the prevailing condition of the locality and take immediate steps to ensure cleanliness in the area.
