JAMMU, July 18: Rashtriya Rifles battalion, under Romeo Force, conducted a lecture on ‘joining Indian Army’, wherein the youth of remote villages of Surankote tehsil, were imparted guidance on joining the Indian Army.
This lecture was organised to motivate and impart directions to unemployed youth, so that in future they can grab opportunities to join Indian Army and can lead a responsible life in the society. Participants were given knowledge of basic requirement for selection in the Army education qualification, physical standards to include minimum height, minimum weight, chest measurement, general health and also regarding selection process to include physical fitness test, Medical examination & common entrance examination.
Participants were given leaflets having information of various recruitment rallies in near future being conducted by Army for the region. Medical examination by Unit Medical Officer was also carried out for the participants after the lecture and they were briefed about the facilities being provided by Youth Employment Guidance Node (YEGN), Surankote for preparation for selection in Army.
This initiative received good social response and was widely appreciated by civil administration & locals, especially the youth.
