Srinagar, Sept 15: The dilapidated condition of a 2-km road stretch from Aabshar Colony to New Stadium Rahmoo in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district is causing immense trouble to the residents as well as the commuters.
The residents said they are experiencing hardships owing to the bad condition of the road which connects the area with the main town.
They alleged that the administration has failed in carrying out the necessary repairs of the road. “The road is lying in shambles for a long time now and plying on it during the rains is a hell of a job even as the driving becomes difficult and risky,” Abdul Hameed, a local said while adding that the patients are the worst hit.
Another resident said that one faces quite a bad experience while travelling on the road. “The roads are filled with ditches and potholes that are about 1 to 2 feet deep; whenever it rains, many vehicles get trapped in the deep potholes,” the residents said.
The locals while stating that the concerned authorities have turned a blind eye towards the issue appealed to the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to look into the matter. They said that they have approached the authorities several times but to no avail.
