Meanwhile, the 68-year-old individual, who suffered severe head injuries due to his reckless driving, was shifted to the Fortis Hospital in Punjab after his condition reportedly deteriorated at Government Medical College Jammu, where he was receiving the treatment so far.

The injured individual was later taken to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment, where his family members informed the media persons today that fresh blood clots were detected in his recent CT scan, prompting the shift to a private hospital in Punjab.
Principal GMC Jammu, Ashutosh Gupta, clarified that the hospital did not refer the patient “officially” and that he was shifted to the Punjab-based hospital under the Leave Against Medical Advice (LAMA) clause.
“He was being treated satisfactorily by our team of doctors, but his family insisted on shifting him, and signed Leave Against Medical Advice (LAMA) documents,” he said.
Earlier, while speaking with the media persons during shifting of the patient, his daughter wished that her father recovers from the injury soon or else she would make the accused face dire consequences for his act.
“I request the accused to surrender before the police. I’d also request him to pray for my father’s early recovery because in case anything happens to him, I’ll make the accused face serious consequences,” she warned.
Hours after she warned the accused, police said they have arrested the accused from Jammu district.
“Accused Thar driver Manan Anand son of Rajinder Anand of House number 62, sector 4, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, who was absconding in case FIR number 163/2525 under sections 281, 125(a), 109 BNS has been arrested by Police Station Gandhi Nagar,” the police said in a statement.
Arrest was made by a police team under the supervision of SP City South Ajay Sharma.
They, however, didn’t clarify from where in Jammu the accused was arrested.
