Road link between Kishtwar & Chatroo remains cut off due to landslide

JAMMU, Feb 8: The road link between Kishtwar and Chatroo remained cut off due to landslide near Bhandarkote for the past over two weeks.
The closure of the road has created manifold problems for the residents of Kuriya, Thakrai, Keshwan and other adjoining areas of tehsil Chatroo in district Kishtwar.
In a statement, youth Congress leader Sharik Saroori urged the GREF authorities and administration of Kishtwar district to clear the landslide.
“Due to landslide basic essentials are not available in these areas. Over hundred of vehicles were stranded on the said road”, he said, adding that people are facing lots of problems due to same.
Saroori also alleged that transporters are taking advantage of the situation and charging exorbitant fares from the passengers and asked the administration to keep a check and take action against those found indulged in illegal activities.
