UDHAMPUR, Nov 8: Inhabitants of village Konain and adjoining hamlets continue to remain cut off from mainland for the last three month following blockage of Ramnagar to Dhanwalt road due to landslide near Konain.
Even as an attempt was made to remove the massive boulders, which had slide down due to heavy rains and blocked the road, the work was stopped as machinery could not reach the spot. Villagers of Konain, Bhiala, Dhanwalt, Samna Banj, Blota and Dhanwalt are suffering due to blockade of the road, which is only surface link for them to Ramnagar mainland.
When contacted, MLA Ramnagar, R S Pathania told the Excelsior that efforts were on to manually break the massive boulders as machinery used for the same could not reach the spot due to technical reasons. The work is under progress and the road will be cleared by the end of this month, he added.
