GANDOH (DODA), June 15: Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ) organized a poetic symposium and folk music concert in Gojri language today at Gandoh, Block Bhalessa a far flung area of District Doda before invited audience. The three hours long programme was organised in open air complex ground to a jam packed audience who were thrilled by the presence of prominent poets as well as singers for the first time in their region. During the programme four books were also released by Tehsildar Gandoh, Din Mohammad Afaque, Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu, V.K.Sambyal, Former Minister and MLA Mohd. Sharief Niaz, SDPO B.L.Ganjoo and other prominent citizens.
The Gogri books which were released included Teer Trikha by Sofi Hashim Din, Asrar by Khakan Sajjad, Nazak Khyal by Basharat Nazik and Jan-E-Ghazal by Jan Mohammad Hakeem.
Eminent poets of Gojri language showered their immaculate poems in today’s Mushaira and enthralled the crowd with their vivid vision, insight and craftsmanship of the language. The event started at 10 A:M with the inaugural remarks by the Station Director Radio Kashmir Jammu V.K.Sambyal who briefly stated the motive behind such programmes and rededicated the Public Service Broadcaster to its audience spread far and across and also stressed upon the need of new fresh talent to use the forum of AIR to take their talent to every nook and corner of the State and the Country.
Radio Kashmir Jammu has embarked upon an ambitious journey of taking Radio to the very door step of its listeners since last few months. In its endeavour to do so Radio Jammu has started a series of poetic symposiums and music concerts at various locations in the region including, Rajouri,Poonch,Kalakote,Akhnoor, Nud, Samba, Gurha Slathia etc.
Radio is the only mass media that reaches every household of the State, but these programmes are meant to physically take the artists and the presenters of radio Jammu to its listeners and perform in front of invited audience.
Apart from educating and entertaining the listeners, such ventures also give them a sense of belonging for the organization.
