JAMMU, July 11: The Programme Advisory Committee of Radio Kashmir Jammu (RKJ) has stressed the need to broadcast more information based programmes on potential hazards.
The Advisory Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Anjali Sharma, Station Head, deliberated upon the programmes to be scheduled during the next three months besides reviewing the programmes broadcast during the last three months.
The meeting was attended by Prof Rita Jitendra, Major General (Retd) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal, Dr Taran Singh, Shiv Dutt Sharma, Dr Namrata Gupta, Sailesh Raina, Engg Head, Smita Sethi, Joint Director Information, Jammu, Ravi Magotra, T.R.Magotra, Renu Raina and K.K.Lidhoo.
The meeting was informed that the Studio Complex of the station was being refurbished and would be ready soon.
The Engineering Head informed that a new DRM Transmitter to replace the existing 300 K.Watt Xtr is in the offing. It was informed that huge archive material including Music and Spoken word would be repackaged from the station. Currently a programme ‘Hamare Sangreh Se’ is already being broadcast. The members suggested to record New Plays, Light Music, Folk Music and Classical Music for quality originations from the station.
The Joint Director Information stressed the need for Scheduling Programmes on Voter awareness, the Flagship and Development Schemes of the State and the Central Governments.
The house suggested that more and more programmes for inculcation of moral values, gender equation and empowerment of women and the weaker sections including the health facilities be scheduled during the following three months.
