Rivals chop off woman’s nose in Pakistan

LAHORE, Aug 26: Three people cut off the nose of a woman in Pakistan’s Punjab province for pursuing a criminal case against them, police said today.
The incident occurred yesterday in Faisalabad district, 100 km from Lahore, the provincial capital.
Ruqqaya Bibi was returning home with her husband Ghulam Qamar after meeting her sister at Mehr Town when three men overpowered them and severely tortured them.
They also cut off Ruqqaya’s nose, police officials said.
The couple was admitted to Allied Hospital, where Qamar told police that Qurban Ali, Tahir Mahmood and Muhammad Saleem attacked them.
The trio warned the couple not to pursue the case against them.
Police have registered a case against the three men who are yet to be arrested, officials said. (PTI)
