Rising demand lifts chana futures by 1.11%

NEW DELHI, Jan 22: Chana prices moved up by 1.11 per cent to Rs 3,718 per quintal in futures trade today as participants raised bets, driven by rising demand from dal mills in the spot market.
Besides, tight stock positions following fall in arrivals from producing regions supported the upside.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in March was trading higher by Rs 41, or 1.11 per cent, at Rs 3,718 per quintal with an open interest of 87,580 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in April contracts gained Rs 40, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 3,755 per quintal in 25,270 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in chana prices to surging demand at spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions. (PTI)
