Rising demand lifts cardamom futures

NEW DELHI, June 24:  Cardamom prices rose by 0.92 per cent to Rs 810.10 per kg in futures trade today after traders widened their exposures, triggered by rising demand in spot markets amidst tight stocks position.
Further, firm export demand supported the upside.
In futures trading at the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for delivery in far-month August contracts was trading Rs 7.40, or 0.92 per cent, higher at Rs 810.10 per kg in a business volume of 71 lots.
Also, spice for delivery in July rose by Rs 4.30, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 819.70 per kg in a business volume of 80 lots.
Traders said that besides rise in demand in spot market, tight supplies from producing regions helped cardamom futures to trade higher at futures trade. (PTI)
