Rich tributes paid to soldiers martyred in J&K avalanche

SRINAGAR: Rich tributes were paid to soldiers who were martyred after they were buried under an avalanche in Turtuk sector in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir recently.
Defence Ministry spokesman Col N N Joshi said here this afternoon that L/Hav Bhawan Tamang and Sepopy Sunil Rai were buried under an avalanche on March 25 at Turtuk in Ladakh.
He said the martyrs were accorded full military honours in a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at Leh in the early hours.
He said the Indian Army paid its homage to the brave departed souls. GOC, Fire & Fury Corps laid the wreath to honour the Martyrs. After the wreath-laying ceremony, the mortal remains of the martyrs were flown to Bagdogra and further to their native places where they will be accorded befitting funerals with full military honours.(Agencies)
