Rich tributes paid to CDS Bipin Rawat, wife, 11 others

JAMMU, Dec 9: Rich tributes were paid to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 armed forces personnel, who were killed in a helicopter crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu yesterday.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha along with officers and staff of Raj Bhavan condoled the sad demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 armed forces personnel, who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter crash yesterday.
Raj Bhavan officials also observed silence for two minutes in the memory of General Rawat, his wife, and 11 Armed Forces Personnel.
Conveying his deepest condolences to the members of bereaved families, the Lt Governor said that General Rawat’s passing away is an irreparable loss to the nation.
“The country will forever remain indebted to General Rawat for his reforms in armed forces, outstanding leadership and vision,” Lt Governor said.
A two day condolence ceremony is being organized at Sherwani Community Hall, Baramulla to pay homage to India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Bipin Rawat. Lt Gen DP Pandey, GOC Chinar Corps along with GOC Dagger Division, Maj Gen Ajay Chandpuri and prominent personnel from civil and district administration paid homage. Candle light tribute was also paid to CDS General Bipin Rawat. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a tribute ceremony for CDS Rawat, Lt Gen DP Pandey said that no other army man had an emotional connection with the people of Kashmir like CDS Rawat had. He said that Rawat’s death in the tragic accident is a major loss for the people of the Kashmir Valley especially to the people of Baramulla. “I am sure that people are feeling the same pain by his death like the Indian army is feeling. It is a major tragedy for the country as we lost some brave hearts. Definitely it will take time to fill this irreparable loss”, he added.
Former Member Parliament, Dr Karan Singh expressed shock over the sudden demise of Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and others in a helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu. In a statement issued, the former Member Parliament said, “I am shocked, beyond belief, at the tragic accident that has taken the lives of General, his wife Rawat and 11 others. My deep condolence to the daughters of General Rawat and other members of the bereaved family.”
Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Chander Mohan Gupta has expressed deep shock over the untimely demise of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife & 11 other bravehearts of Armed Forces in a helicopter crash. Paying his deep condolences to the families of General Rawat and others who lost their lives in the tragedy, the Mayor said that his prayers are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief.
Former Legislator and Senior BJP Leader Devender Singh Rana expressed shock and grief over the tragic demise of Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat, his wife and others, describing it as an irreparable loss to the Nation. “No words are enough to pay homage to the great soldier, whose services will form a golden chapter of Indian Military history”, Rana said while conveying his condolences to the bereaved family. He also wished for speedy recovery of injured Group Captain Varun Singh.
A meeting of the office bearers of Chamber of Commerce & Industry was held today at Chamber House under the Presidentship of Arun Gupta and condoled the sad and untimely demise of Indian first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, recalled his services to the Armed Force as well as to the Country and also said that his contribution in protecting the interests of the country will always be remembered.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of President Ashok Gupta paid tributes to CDS General Bipin Rawat, who died in a helicopter crash along with 12 others near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu. Party workers and people from different walks of life paid floral tribute to the braveheart and candles were lit in his honour.
Dogra Brahman Pritinidhi Sabha in its condolence meeting held under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash Sharma President of DBPS condoled the demise of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 others. DBPS has also expressed his sympathy with the bereaved families who lost their dear ones in the tragic incident and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, organized a Shardanjali Samaroh in J&K High Court Complex, Jammu to pay homage and tributes to Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Mudhulika Rawat and 11 other personnel of armed forces in the unfortunate and tragic demise in helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor. MK Bhardwaj, Senior Advocate and President of the Association while expressing heartfelt condolence to the families described that the country has lost brave and highly decorated soldier. The members of the Bar also recalled and appreciated the services of 11 other Armed Forces personnel who were on board with General Rawat and his wife Mudhulika Rawat. All the lawyers’ including Senior and Young lawyers were present during the Shardanjali Samaroh and after laying floral tributes observed silence in the memory of departed souls.
Freedom Fighters Memorial Association J&K paid tributes to the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and other armed forces personnel. Two minutes silence was also observed. Shardhanjali Sabha was organized at Shourya Stambh Ambphalla Jammu. Chief Patron Ved Gandotra, Kiran Wattal, Ex Municipal Commissioner Jammu and many others also paid tributes.
State President Mission Statehood Sunil Dimple also paid tributes to CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other armed forces personnel.
