Sir,
During the month of Nov 2014, the Central Govt announced that 23 District Central Coop Banks would be revived by investing in them Rs 2375 crore. One of these Banks in Jammu region is The Jammu Central Coop Bank (JCCB) having its Central Office at Rail Head Jammu. The Govt has decided to revive these Banks as people from lower strata of society and small businessmen have deposits in this them. For this purpose a MOU will be signed between the Centre,State and NABARD.
But, due to delay in formation of Govt in J&K. this process is being delayed and till date nothing has been done in this regard. At this juncture, it is need of the hour to modernize this Bank and bring it on core banking (CBS) platform. So, now, it is the duty of the present Government to initiate the process and a MOU be signed at an earliest to cater the needs of the rural people in particular so that this institution which was established way back in 1914 may be able to compete with its counterparts.
Yours etc…..
