JAMMU, Apr 26: Muslim Development Forum and members of Civil Society, Jammu has demanded for returning of Powers Projects acquired by Central Government to the State Government, today.
Addressing a press conference, Syed Ahmed Shah, president, Muslim Development Forum said that the people of J&K feel disappointed and disheartened over the silence being maintained by the Modi Government over the recommendations made by the Ranga Rajan Committee and working group formed by the then Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh for return of certain power projects to J&K State free of cost.
Finally the MDF (J&K) and members of civil society of Jammu have demanded the immediate return of power projects from Central Government (NHPC) and fulfill the promise made by PDP and its alliance partner (BJP) in the agenda of alliance, and till the power projects are returned and free power quota of 12% may be raised to 30% and the inflated power bills ranging from Rs 30/50 thousands to lacks of Rupees may be waived off keeping in mind the fast approaching hottest summer season this year as predicted by the scientist/ Meteorology Department, which ultimately would also be the bests CBM.
Meanwhile, the MDF and members of civil society also make demand from J&K Government to further strengthen the JKSPDC to enable it handle the power projects of the J&K State independently.
