Excelsior Correspondent
NEW DELHI, June 1: Kashmiri Pandit Conference(KPC) which held a meeting here today under the chairmanship of its president Kundan Kashmiri expressed the hope that political change at the Centre will positively be in favour of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, leading an exiled life for last over 25 years outside the Valley.
Mr Kashmiri in his address said it is an opportune time for KPs to be united and show a consensus on all the issues keeping the larger interest of the community in view. He appealed all KP organisations to get united and form a consolidated representative group to submit a joint memorandum to Prime Minister in this regard.
Kashmiri further stated that previous Congress led UPA at the Centre as well as N C- Congress alliance in the State showed lollypops to displaced KPs which never served to their interests, rather isolated and ignored them to large extent.
While linking the return and rehabilitation of displaced KP community in the Valley with abrogation of Article 370 which could only ensure free flow of Indian Constitution in the State, Kundan Kashmiri said that return of KPs to Valley is a sensitive issue related to future of their progeny and existence of the community, so the community should not make hurry and act foolishly which would damage its interests and negate the 25 year long struggle.
He demanded Commission of enquiry to probe the mass exodus of KPs, their killings etc. He also demanded abrogation of Article 370 from State, minority status to KPs, nullification of distress sale of KP property in Kashmir Valley, passage of temples and shrines Bill as well as promotion & protection of KPs heritage,  grant of permission  to visit Sharda temple in  PoK to all Hindus including Kashmiri Pandits, rehabilitation package for over-aged youths of displaced Kashmiri Pandit community, cashless cards or medical aid to the families of displaced KPs who are suffering with fatal diseases and representation to KP community in all political institutions and forums which including  State  Assembly as  well as  Parliament.
