JAMMU, Oct 24: Crime Branch Jammu has arrested a retired Veterinary Doctor for cheating and defrauding youth by offering job in J&K Bank.
The accused, namely Rehmat Ullah Khora, son of Habib Ullah Khora of Bhalwan Mohalla, Doda was arrested from Srinagar City in case FIR number 14/2019, under section 420, 120-B/ RPC P/S Crime Branch, Jammu for cheating and defrauding the complainant by way of luring him of an offer of a job in J&K Bank for an amount of Rs 6.20 lakh.
The accused is a retired veterinary doctor from Animal Husbandry Department and an accomplice in the case along with the other co-accused Sajjad Ahmad Nazar son of Abdul Gafar of Kishtwar. Sajad was arrested from Kishtwar and was bailed out from judicial custody.
Taking advantage of the prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley, the accused was hiding in Srinagar to avoid his arrest for the last over six months. With meticulous planning and coordinated efforts, the accused Dr. Rehmat Ullah has been arrested by a team of Crime Branch, Jammu after developing intelligence inputs about his presence in Srinagar City.
A written complaint was lodged by the complainant in Crime Branch, Jammu, against the accused regarding fraud and cheating. Subsequently, a preliminary verification was initiated which substantiated the allegations against the accused. Accordingly, case FIR number 14/2019 was registered in Crime Branch, Jammu and during investigation, case of fraud and cheating has been established against the accused.
