Retired Police Personnel Forum highlights demands, grievances

RAJOURI, Oct 7: A meeting of the Retired Police Personnel Forum, District Rajouri, was held under the chairmanship of district president Om Parkash Sharma for discussing  the long pending demands and grievances of  the  retired policemen.
During the meeting, some retired cops complained  that their pending DA and Leave Salary arrears  were not released  for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities. One Retd SGCt stated that he had submitted his application in DPO Rajouri for financial assistance on the eve of marriage of his daughter, which was held on July 1, 2014 but till date no help was extended to him.
The meet reiterated the demand for One Rank One Pension for retired Police personnel, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, free treatment in Police hospital and re-imbursement of  Medical bills of  retired cops, reservation for Police personnel in recruitment quota, financial assistance for marriage of  their children and Rs 50 thousand to the family at the time of a retired cop’s death.
The meet also appreciated the Director General of Police, J&K, for directing District SSP Rajouri on welfare matters of retired Police personnel vide PHQ communication, number AIG(W)-Btd.59/45364-65, dated 18-08-2015.
