JAMMU, Dec 9: S.K. Mishra, Director General of Police, Prisons J&K, today convened a meeting with a deputation of Prisons Retired Personnel led by Krishan Singh, President PREWA.
The deputation put forth a memorandum of demands which inter-alia included provision of contact details of retired prison personnel, drafting welfare fund rules for the retired prisons personnel and finalization of pending recruitment of Warders initiated in 2005.
The DGP Prisons gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that their demands would be dealt with positively. The DGP asked the members to participate in the welfare committee meetings for quick redressal of their grievances.
Emphasising on the role of retired employees in development of an organization, the DGP directed the senior officers to involve the retired employees in recreation and other departmental activities.
The meeting was attended by Amarjeet Singh, Chuni Lal, Harbans Lal and Bishambar Dass, besides DIG Prisons Dr M S Lone.
