JAMMU, Dec 4: Retired Officers’ Forum today discussed the issues of the pensioners with regard to some discrepancies in the pension.
In a meeting of the Forum led by ID Soni, its president and SC Rekhi, general secretary held with the Governor’s Advisor, KK Sharma today, the members apprised the Advisor that ROF has been constantly bringing the problems, being faced by the pensioners to the notice of the Govt from time to time.
They urged upon the Advisor to clarify on Mediclaim policy/ health insurance scheme and also reduce the premium of the pensioners if the Govt wants to revive it. They said it was highly unjustified to fix pensioners premium three times higher than the serving employees. They also highlighted the issue with regard to the payment of arrears to pensioners of 7th Pay Commission. After detailed deliberations it was requested that the arrears of the pensioners be released in one go irrespective of the age factor.
It was also pointed out that the implementation of formulation -II, Pensioners are feeling lot of difficulties, in light of instructions given by the Govt to submit the applications through their controlling officers along with PPOs for arrears of 7th Pay Commission. They also requested to enhance medical allowance of pensioners and employees from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month. The advisor gave patient hearing and assured positive response in this connection.
