JAMMU, Aug 27: A woman was murdered today by her husband in Phlian Mandal area of city outskirts.
According to a police sources, the deceased was identified as Rama Sharma (38), wife of Nagar Mal, resident of Alora (Sohanjana). They said that the woman was hit with an iron rod and killed on the spot by her husband, a retired Subedar from Army, at her residence.
Sources said while the crime was committed around 2:30 AM today but the police came to know about the incident in the morning after which the forensic team was called. “After videography of the crime scene and lifting evidences including the weapon of offence from the crime spot, the body of the deceased was shifted to GMC Jammu for postmortem,” they added.
They further said that a case FIR Number 176 under Section 302 IPC was registered in this connection at police station Satwari and the accused arrested while investigations are underway to know the reason of murder.
