SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Empanelled ReT teachers today protested, seeking the immediate implementation of the orders issued by the double bench of the J&K and Ladakh High Court by the Department of Education.
The order, as per the protestors, has guaranteed their appointment in contrast to directives issued by the Government as per which their appointment was cancelled earlier.
Several ReT teachers in this regard appeared in the press enclave and were raising slogans in favour of their demands, urging the authorities to take the necessary measures to safeguard the career of the teachers.
“As ReT aspirants, were appointed in the Department of Education, but the final appointment orders were never given. We were told that we will have to appear in the screening, but we challenged those directives in the court,” Mudasir Hussian Rather, leading the ReT teachers said.
He said that, then, they were told that there are financial implications associated with it. “We challenged that order too in the court and then came another order of 2018 as per which all our appointments were cancelled including panels, and that too was challenged in the court,” he said.
He said that the High Court has now recently passed an order in this regard and has stated that the candidates stand empanelled and selected and there would be no binding of the order on them.
“We thank the court and at the same time urge the Government to implement the court order so that the career of the ReT is saved,” they said.
