ReT teachers hold protest, take out candle march

DODA, Aug 17: Demanding de-linking of SSA salary and implementation of 7th pay commission, the Rehber-e-Taleem (ReT) teachers held protest and took out candle march here today.
Amid slogans against, a large number of ReT teachers under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir ReT Teachers Forum assembled here and held protest against Government and Education Department. The protestors also took out candle march to project their demands.
While speaking, Jamat Ali Aga, leader of the Forum warned the Government of not playing with the sentiments of the ReT teachers.
Demanding de-linking of SSA salary and implementation of 7th pay commission, Aga said that they will continue their protest peacefully and if their demands are not redressed at the earliest, they will protest in aggressive manner and for any untoward incident, the Government and Education Department will be responsible.
One of the protesting ReT teacher Pardeep Kotwal said that they have been waiting since long as the Government assured to work on a road map to sort out the issues. “This is really shameful on part of Government that despite assurances no concrete steps have been taken to redress our issues”, he added.
Sarfaraz Ahmed Malik, Choudhary Yasin, Rakesh Kumar, Dewan Singh, Aniss Wani, Zakir Hussain, Yaseen Sajjad and many others were present during the protest and candle march.
