ReT Teachers Forum defends Govt decision on conceding demands

JAMMU, June 20: Hailing the Cabinet decision of including 5-year ReT period for seniority benefits and provision of transfer policy for regularized ReTs, the J&K ReT Teachers Forum has condemned those permanent teachers who are criticizing this move of the Government.
Talking to media persons, here today, the Forum president Vinod Sharma lamented that some permanent teachers were criticizing the Government decision instead of appreciating the same.
“These very teachers had been supporting our both the demands but as soon as the Government announced to concede the same, they started opposing for their petty interests,” he said.
Listing the services of ReT teachers, the Forum president reminded that they have given 5 years service at Rs 1500 per month and made the Government policy successful by raising literacy rate, opening closed schools in far-flung areas, increasing enrolment and decreasing dropout rate.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister and all the Cabinet Ministers for their kind approach in conceding the most genuine demands, Mr Sharma said that by its action Government has shown a sympathetic approach towards ReTs like other employees.
This decision of the Government will benefit more than 60,000 RET Teachers of the State who are thankful to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, he added.
Other who were present in the press conference, included Younis Rahi (State vice-president), Rajesh Singh Jamwal (provincial president), Sukhdev Singh (State co-coordinator), Sham Sharma (chief publicity secretary), Sukesh Khajuria (State secretary ), Subash Chander (District president-Jammu), Manzoor Khan, Ravinder Chib, Navjot Singh and Surjeet Singh.
