JAMMU, June 20: The irate residents of Rarian village in Ramgarh tehsil of district Samba today blocked the Vijaypur Swankha road for five hours.
The protestors raising slogans against the Government demanded regular power supply. They said that due to the hailstorm that lashed the area few days back the electric poles and wires were damaged in the village disrupting the power supply.
They alleged that the PDD has failed to restore the power supply since then. They alleged that the PDD authorities have failed to redress the problem as power failure has added to the woes of the people in this hot and humid Summer.
BJP vice president Chander Parkash Ganga was also participated in the demonstration. They demanded immediate restoration of power to the area. The protestors also blamed the public representative for his failure in getting the problem solved. They said that some villages in the area are being deprived of power supply due to political pressure.
Later, the officers of PDD reached the spot and they issued instructions to their subordinate staff to restore the power to the village and the people lifted the road blockade.
