ReT Forum seeks release of pending salary as per 7th Pay Commission

JAMMU, Nov 25: Jammu and Kashmir ReT Teachers Forum has demanded immediate release of salary of last 4 months of 41000 teachers of the State as per 7th Pay Commission besides de-linking of the same from MHRD to State budget.
A meeting of TJAC will be held at Jammu on November 30, 2018 and protest schedule will be announced if the Government fails to release salary of 4 months before 29th of November 2018.
As per a statement issued by State president ReT Teachers’ Forum Vinod Sharma, 41000 teachers of the State have been living in mental trauma due to non seriousness of the Government as they are without salary for last 4 months and their families are suffering badly.
” How can a teacher survive and contribute to society when he remains without salary for so many months and he is harassed by not implementing the decision of the Governor to implement 7th Pay Commission? ” he asked adding that on 26th September 2018, Governor called the leaders of TJAC and announced the immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission beside speeding up the process of delinking of salary from MHRD to State budget and committee framed for the same had to give its report regarding the permanent solution of the issue on or before November 10, 2018, but even 2 months have passed of the assurance of Governor and more than 15 days have passed of the deadline of the committee , nothing has been done for these suffering teachers who are losing their patience .
He also said that various representations have been made by the Forum with concerned authorities, including Advisor to Governor, Secretary School Education and others but except assurances nothing is done till date.
Meanwhile, monthly meeting of ReT Teachers Forum was held at Exhibition Ground Jammu under the chairmanship of provincial president Rajesh Jamwal who also lambasted the Government for its casual approach to resolve the salary issue of 41000 teachers.
