JAMMU, Apr 22: Seeing the delaying tactics of the Education Department to resolve the chronic issue of SSA salary, due to which thousands of SSA teachers of the State are suffering, J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum strongly criticized the casual approach of the Government.
According to a statement issued by State President, Vinod Sharma and Chairman, Abdul Aziz Gazi, J&K ReT Teachers Forum will hold lockout cum protests on April 25, 2018 throughout the State.
The main protest will be held at Press Colony Srinagar, while in Jammu division, the protests will be held at all the district headquarters by locking the schools on the same day.
Showing concern over the plight of SSA teachers, Sharma criticized  the department for its failure to streamline SSA salary and to implement transfer policy.
“Though statements were issued by the Education Minister and the Finance Minister regarding the streamlining of SSA salary and transfer policy on the floor of house which proved hollow, thereby playing with future of ReT Teachers and forcing them to come on roads,” said Sharma.
He said that ReT Teachers have been working with devotion and dedication in the schools and even playing vital role in successful completion of other tasks assigned to them whether it’s census duty / BLO duty / various survey duties / ODF duties etc but inspite of that their families are living miserable lives as they are unable to provide basic amenities to them including proper food and clothing to their children and medicines to their ailing parents which is a matter of great concern.
He said the Forum observed that there is no other option left than to hold strong protest.
The State president and the chairman appealed all the ReTs of the State to observe complete lockup and participate in the protests at respective district headquarters.
