ReT Forum announces State wide protest on July 15

SRINAGAR, July 6: Jammu Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF) announced State wide protest on 15th of July on various issues which are still pending due to delay tactics of Education Department.
This was decided by the forum in an executive meeting held here under the chairmanship of State Chairman Farooq Ahmed Tantray in which forum members through out the State were present.
During the meeting, the forum leaders said that more than 7700 undergraduate RET teachers are still to be converted into Grade II, about five thousand head teachers are waiting for their adjustments, more than 2500 teachers who have completed their five years of service are waiting for their regularization orders and 1400 orders of teacher grade two are pending.
They said more than 18000 teachers are without salaries from March 2019 and they are at the verge of starvation.
Forum Chairman FA Tantray said that the delay tactics of the Education Department force teachers to hit the streets again. He said that the Governor administration had played a great role for the adjustment of RET teachers but unfortunately the department is playing delay tactics in this matter. He said that it is impossible for a teacher to give their best in their classrooms without salaries from past more than four months.
He said that they have requested many times to the department for speedy process of conversion of teachers into TG2 and release of pending dues but all in vain. He said that teachers are in mental trauma which also affected the education scenario of the State.
Forum leaders appealed to Governor administration and chief Secretary to intervene into the matter and redress the issues of teachers once for all.
Forum representative said that if their issues were not resolved up to 14th of July they will come on roads again on 15th of July and the concerned department will be responsible for the same.
Others who spoke during the meeting including Forum Patron BA Dar, Senior Vice Chairman Bhupinder Singh, Vice Chairman Talib Hussian, State Secretary ZD Beigh, State executive members, district and Zonal Presidents of the forum.
