JAMMU, Sept 6: According to an official order issued here today by NHPC, the public of district Doda and Kishtwar in general and public of village Dul, Benzwar, Cherhar, Bhandarkot, Hasti, Kandni, Thathari, Prem Nagar and Pul Doda in particular has been informed that for statutory periodical silt flushing from the reservoir of Dulhasti Power Station, the gates of the dam will be opened from 7.9.2012 (22.00 hours) to 8.9.2012 (20.00 hours) causing increase in flow of water and level of river Chenab may increase from 2 to 3 meters.
As such, movement of persons, vehicles and pets along the river bank during this period is not advisable.
The general public of the area has been asked to restrict their movement near the banks of river Chenab during this period to avoid any mishap.
Anybody violating this notice will be doing so at his own risk and responsibility and the management of Dulhasti Power Station will not be responsible for consequence.
