JAMMU, Mar 8: Asking the Government to stop taking “destructive and diversionary” steps, former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today demanded that the Centre should immediately come with a bill to revert Jammu & Kashmir’s status of full statehood.
He demanded constitutional protection to jobs and owning of land by the people of Jammu and Kashmir and creating conducive atmosphere for the revival of political activity. Addressing  prominent persons of Gandhi Nagar constituency to mobilize public opinion against BJP anti- youth and anti people policies in J&K , Bhalla said the people of J&K need special constitutional guarantees for people to have jobs and own land. He said the Centre should also announce compensation for the losses people have incurred after the anti people decisions like demonetization, GST, dividing J&K State into two Union Territories ,CAA besides many more such decisions and pointed out that livelihood, business, trade, tourism have suffered following the Government move.
Bhalla emphasized that roadmap laid by Congress is the only way to establish sustainable peace in the Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Congress through its programme and policies had created a sense of security among residents of Jammu and Kashmir. He solicited the cooperation of the people in realizing the dream of making the J&K economically vibrant and prosperous under Congress. He said that on one side there are parties which have been exposed badly for continuously deceiving the common masses for last six years together and on the other it is Congress which has a cadre from top to bottom working day and night only to satiate the aspirations of people and addressing their issues which were earlier disregarded and misused for petty political gains by BJP.
He said demonetization and GST are the two jolts which have rocked the country’s economy and it is still recovering from these two shocks. The two decisions of far reaching implication have hardly served the cause of the poor and down trodden people of the country. These two great shocks have affected the common man. It badly affected our economy as well.
The sky rocketing prices of almost all essential commodities of daily use have broken the back of the common man.
