NEW DELHI: A statutory resolution seeking extension of President Rule in Jammu and Kashmir by six months and the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2019 on Monday received the nod of Parliament with the Rajya Sabha passing it by voice vote.
The resolution to extend the President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir and the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill were passed by the Upper House after the House rejected the statutory resolution moved by D Raja of the CPI disapproving the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Ordinance, 2019 promulgated by the President on March 1.
The resolution and the Bill has already been passed by the Lok sabha. With the Rajya Sabha giving its approval, the resolution and the Bill have got the nod of Parliament. (AGENCIES)
