Residents raise voice against erratic power cuts

JAMMU, June 24: Residents of Swaran Vihar (Police Colony) today raised their voice against the erratic power curtailments by Power Development Department.
Locals alleged that they had raised the issue several times before the officials of department concerned but no action was taken so far, resulting of which, they had been facing lot of problems due to erratic power curtailment, that too, in humid scorching heat.
“On one side, the meters have been installed by the department in the area but on other side, the same department has literally failed to stop the unscheduled power curtailments”, they said.
Due to irregular power cuts, the water supply is adversely affected while ailing old citizens as well as children are spending sleepless night in the scorching heat due to erratic power cuts.
They urged the Authority concerned to look into matter and take necessary steps to avoid unscheduled power curtailment.
