Residents protesting lack of basic amenities block road

Srinagar, Sept 28: The residents of Krangsoo village of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district today staged a protest against the lack of basic amenities and blocked vital Khanabal-Pahalgam Road (KP) for two hours.
The residents alleged that the area sans basic amenities including drinking water supply, electricity and macadamized road. They raised slogans against the present dispensation and demanded immediate redressel of their issues.
The protesters blocked the vital KP Road leading world famous Pahalgam tourist resort leading to traffic standstill. The standstill put people to immense inconvenience.
It was only after the assurance of local Congress leader, Hilal Ahamd Shah that protesters ended their protest and dispersed off peacefully. Shah assured them that he will take up their issues with higher-ups.
