Residents protest over power crisis, block highway

KATHUA, July 10: The residents of village Chanwan near Block Chadwal held protest and blocked the Jammu-Pathankote National Highway here today over power crisis.
As per reports, a large number of residents of village Chanwan near Block Chadwal held protest and raised slogans against Power Development Department.
They also blocked the vehicular movement on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway over power crisis.
While speaking, a woman namely Champa Devi said that they are suffering a lock due to power crisis in their areas. For the past four days, the residents especially children are having sleepless night.
Another protestor said that the Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to mitigate our suffering. No one from the department is making any efforts to restore the power supply to our area, he added.
On getting information, senior officers rushed to the spot and assured the protesting people of restoring the power supply in their area as soon as possible.
On the assurance, the protesting residents dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the highway.
