Residents protest against sacrilegious act, case registered

JAMMU, July 28: The residents held protest against sacrilegious act in Rajeev Nagar area near Narwal here today.
As per police sources, tension erupted in Rajeev Nagar near Narwal after cattle bones were found in nallah near temple.
A large number of people including women assembled near the temple and held protest. They were demanding immediate action against the persons for hurting the religious sentiments.
The residents said that some anti-national people are trying to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of their area by doing these kinds of cheap things, adding that immediate action should be taken against the persons behind this incident.
On getting information, police team led by SDPO East Bikram Kumar along with SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and Incharge Police Post SI Achal Rana rushed to the spot and assured the protesting people of taking action against the culprits.
However, a case under FIR Number 267/2021 under Section 295-A has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Sources told that three persons (Rohingyas) have been detained for questioning into the incident.
