Residents allege acute scarcity of drinking water

JAMMU, Apr 2: Various problems confronted by the residents of Shiv Nagar and Shanti Nagar were discussed in a meeting of Mohalla Welfare Association held under the chairmanship of Mangal Singh Chib.
Association president Rashpal Singh Manhas and general secretary Sat Pal Sharma said there was acute scarcity of drinking water as the same was being supplied once or twice a week that too after hard persuasions to the concerned authorities.
They said the condition of road from Government quarters to Shamshan Ghat (Canal Head) is in very bad shape because ERA has not done the black-topping of the road for more than six months. Further the dilapidated condition of lanes and drains was also discussed and the authorities concerned urged to mitigate the sufferings of the people at an earliest.
