JAMMU, July 11: Protest dharna staged by all Jammu based reserved category employees at Ambedkar Chowk Jammu, continuously on 40th day demanding their 3-point genuine demands including formation of a comprehensive time bound transfer policy, utilization of services of employees in their respective district and not to pressurize the Jammu based employees to resume their duties in prevailing situation in Kashmir Valley.
While briefing the Media, Anjana Bala, secretary of the Association talked about the assurance given by Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha. She also told that till the time written orders to the effect does not come from the administration, the protest will be continued.
One of the members of the Advisory Committee of Association, Vipan Kumar upon asking by the media persons about the current situation in Kashmir and joining back the duties by the employees said a comprehensive Transfer Policy needed to be made fixing a time period of 5 years in the same pattern as it used to be in Ladakh, whereby, any of the non-local employee after serving in Ladakh Region for 5 years, is send back to home district.
President of the Association Romesh Chand briefed Media that it is a matter of thousands of employees who firmly believe in the assurance of Lt Governor given to a 5- Members delegation and eagerly waiting to see assurance become reality after a notification. Core Committee members made it clear that the peaceful protest will continue till their demands are redressed.
