VIJAYPUR, Mar 26: Apni Party provincial president Jammu, and Former Minister, Manjit Singh has demanded reservation of jobs in the industrial sector of Jammu and Kashmir in respective districts to local youths in both skilled and unskilled.
Manjit Singh was addressing a meeting of party leaders of Vijaypur block which was attended by provincial president Jammu Youth Wing, Vipul Bali, district president, Legal Cell, Sahil Bharti, Lovely Mangol, Mangat Ram, and others.
Manjit Singh who chaired the meeting of Vijaypur Youth Wing discussed employment related issues.
During the meeting, the Apni Party leaders also expressed concern with regard to growing unemployment among the youth, and migration of the youth in search of work to outside J&K.
Manjit Singh said that “The employment opportunities available in J&K’s industrial sector exists in Samba, Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, and other parts of the erstwhile State but the industrialists do not provide ample employment to the local youth,. These educated youth remain unemployed and hence, circumstances force them to migrate out of J&K for labour workers/Palidari etc.”
Manjit Singh criticized the failure of authorities to ensure that the youth get employment at their respective districts in the industrial sectors.
“We have come to know about the contract based workers in industrial sectors and the permanent/ higher level and even skilled workers are hired from out of Jammu and Kashmir. “We are providing these industrialists land and concessions so that they help the J&K Government to handle the employment issues as well as to encourage economic growth. However, they take away the wealth after using the resources and provide employment to the non-locals,” he alleged.
