Reservation in promotions demanded

JAMMU, Feb 12: J&K Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA) has demanded extension of Article 16 (4) A&B of the Constitution of India to J&K for the restoration of reservation in promotions for the employees of reserved categories.
In a press conference here today Sham Lal Bassan, leader of JKRCEA said that there will be a mass agitation if the reservation in promotion is not restored within next 15 days.
He condemned State Government’s poor response to the demand.
Prof. G.L Thappa urged the government to extend Article 16 (4) A & B of constitution of India to J&K State by Presidential Ordinance.
Bodh Raj Bhagat, Prof Kali Dass, Sunita Bangotra, Nighat Shafeeq and others were also present in the press conference.
