JAMMU, Mar 31: All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organisations flayed the removal of reservation provision from the Draft New Excise Policy 2021-22 which was made public on March 8, 2021.
In a press conference here today R.K Kalsotra, J&K president of Confederation said they wrote to Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam; Arun Kumar Mehta, Financial Commissioner and Rahul Sharma, Excise Commissioner in this regard but no heed was paid to them.
He claimed that they had met former LG, G.C Murmu on May 27, 2020 in this regard and got approval by him but same couldn’t be implemented due to his transfer.
Kalsotra said that later a delegation of Confederation also met Manoj Sinha on August 22, 2020 and Sinha agreed to the demand of provision of reservation and same was included in the Excise Policy 2020-21.
However, he expressed concern over the deletion of the same in the new Excise Policy.
