JAMMU, Nov 21: Attributing the announcement of Prime Minister to repeal the three farm laws to his unflinching faith in democracy, BJP leader and former legislator Devender Singh Rana today said that Narendra Modi has emerged as a democrat-statesman who keeps the nation first.
“The nation is proud of the sagacious political stand taken by the Prime Minister in the interest of the nation and for satiating the urges of farmers”, Rana said while addressing Sangat at Gurdwara Yadgar Lt. Gen.(Retd) Bikram Singh at, Bikram Chowk, Jammu in commemoration of the Gurupurab.
Rana also hailed the opening of Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to enable a huge number of devotees to pay obeisance at the revered Gurdwara, notwithstanding the cowardice of the neighbouring nation which has inflicted many scars on Indian psyche by being a corroborator in the most inhuman acts.
“It was only appropriate to reopen the corridor on the Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Devji, apostle of peace, harmony, social justice and equality. He greeted the Sangat and exuded confidence that such occasions would be observed in the true spirit of amity and brotherhood. He lauded the valour of Sikhs, saying their bravery and sacrifices towards the nation will always remain a source of inspiration for generations.
Rana said the people of J&K have been sharing each others’ joys by being part of the festivals, which forge the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie. He hoped this spirit of inclusiveness would flourish leaps and bounds for bringing harmony and tranquility in the society. He said all religions stand for love, amity and selfless service but their teachings should not be allowed to fall silent in the din of hate and greed, he maintained.
Rana said the best way of celebrating festivals is to take a pledge to follow the path of righteousness in letter and spirit and work for building a society based on the natural principles of social justice, equality, compassion, love and togetherness.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included senior BJP leader Satish Sharma, president Gurudwara Committee and BJP leader Jasmeet Singh, BJP District general secretary IT Cell, Upinder Singh, BJP leader of Transport Cell Darshan Singh, Mohan Singh, Jagdev Singh, Jarnail Singh, Anil Verma, Sanjay Sharma, Dilip Singh and others.
The management presented Saropa to Rana on the occasion.
