UDHAMPUR, Nov 21: JKPCC president, GA Mir today lashed out at BJP and Modi Govt for fleecing the common man through tax terrorism and playing the politics of hatred in the society which is dangerous for the pluralistic society.
Leading a protest dharna and addressing a large gathering of people as part of the ongoing “Jan Jagran Abhiyan” against the ruling BJP Government  at Ghari in district Udhampur today, PCC president said that huge assets and infrastructure created by previous Governments have been put on sale by this Government besides making the life of common people miserable through heavy taxes and sky touching prices of all the commodities.
He said that Congress was instrumental in making the opposition parties stand united while demanding a repeal of all three farm laws during the last Parliament session. Right from Parliament to the streets, the opposition parties unanimously demanded the withdrawal of all three farm laws. “After nearly 12 months of peaceful protests, today the struggle and will power of 62 crore farmers and farm labourers of the country have finally won. Today, the sacrifices of more than 700 farmers’ families paid off,” he added.
Mir said Congress Party is making the public aware about the ill-conceived policies of the BJP, which has caused inflation, unemployment and created hardships for the people of the State. The people have rejected the BJP and acknowledged the Congress. The entire party cadre is motivated right now and wants to ensure that the BJP is uprooted from power in 2022. “
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla claimed that after Congress’ protests, providing a relief to the general public, the Centre levied less excise duty on the prices of petrol and diesel. On Friday, the Union Government finally withdrew all the three Central farm laws. After such decision, the Congress, too, has changed the overall strategy of its Jan Jagran Abhiyan. The Congress is now making preparations to force the Central Government to withdraw farm laws in the Parliament. The Union Government must assure the Minimum Support Price (MSP) on crops, loan waiver, removal of GST from agriculture sector, he added.
Bhalla claimed that the Congress party will form the next Government in J&K. He disclosed that under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP Government, the price of LPG cylinders has increased by Rs 305. A gas cylinder which used to cost Rs 450 per cylinder in 2014 under the Congress Government is now Rs 900 per cylinder. Due to the increase in the price of LPG cylinders, 42 per cent of people have stopped using LPG for cooking and started using wood, he claimed.

Prominent among those who accompanied included- PYC president Uday Bhanu Chib,  State president Congress Seva Dal,  Vijay Sharma, Congress OBC Department Chairman Suresh Dogra and NSUI president J&K, Sunny Parihar.
