Renowned yoga instructor dies in road accident

JAMMU, May 9: Sanjay Kumar, a renownd yoga instructor working with Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council died in a road accident near Amar Singh Club, here today.
“In a hit and run case, an unidentified vehicle early this morning hit a scooty bearing registration number JK02AD-1309 near Amar Singh Club and seriously injured its rider, who was identified as Sanjay Kumar (50) son of Mohan Lal, resident of Bakshi Nagar”, a police official said, adding the mishap occurred when the victim was on his way towards Gandhi Nagar after taking his morning class at MA Stadium.
He said that the injured Yoga instructor was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. “The deceased was an employee of J&K Sports Council and posted as Yoga Instructor”, he added.
According to Incharge, police post, Nehru Market, Sub Inspector JP Singh, they have registered a case FIR No 109/2018 under relevant sections in the case and started investigations, as there was no CCTV camera installed near the site of accident.
The deceased Yoga Instructor was very popular among his students and followers. He had been working constantly with complete dedication and selflessness. Besides working with J&K Sports Council, he was deeply associated with many charitable and spiritual organizations such as “Mohanji Foundation, India” and “Mohanji Sadhana Center Jammu”.
He would always remain great guide and instructor that he was to “Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga”. He was a personal yoga instructor of various dignitaries of the State.
Meanwhile, Governor NN Vohra has conveyed his grief to the family of Sanjay Kumar. In a message, Vohra has prayed for peace to the departed soul and asked the Jammu police to allow no delay in finalizing investigation of the accident.
Sanjay Kumar had been instructing Governor and Lady Governor for past several years.
