Renovation of Govt bunglows

Sir,
Apropos news  item “Estates accommodation in shambles but VIP bungalows get crores for renovation” DE June 5. It is to  say that besides one MLA Hostel at Jammu and one at Kashmir, the Govt has constructed many bunglows for the convenience of Ministers, MLAs, Elected Members, etc. These people once elected /nominated to these seats, posts immediately move to occupy these palatial bungalows and avail this golden facility without losing any time.
It is  well known to all that a handsome amount of the Government exchequer is spent, every year for renovation, modernisation, maintenance alongwith  providing day to day items like furniture, appliances (electric and electronic) and very little amount of it is realised as rent from these well paid salaried persons. No where crisis of the funds comes in the way.
The Govt should fix the ceilings in case of repair, renovation and also while handing over the possession of these bungalows should take as undertaking to be get it vacated with in two months positively failing which ten times rent shall be charged and possessor shall be declared defaulter.
Yours etc…
