SRINAGAR, Nov 3: Advisor to Governor, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai today chaired a meeting at the office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to review the progress with regard to removal of encroachments on either side of National Highway (NH) and other State Highways.
The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, Chief Engineer R&B, officials from NHAI and representative from RAMKY. Besides, all Deputy Commissioners attended the meeting through Video Conferencing.
At the onset all DCs briefed the Advisor regarding the progress made by them in respect of removal of encroachment on either sites of NH and other State Highways. While appreciating the efforts of the Deputy Commissioners, the Advisor directed that no unauthorized structure either commercial or residential shall be allowed to be erected on either sites of NH and State Highways in violation of NH Act or Ribbon Development Act.
The Advisor said that no conversion of agricultural land in contravention to Section 133 of the Land Revenue Act shall be allowed without seeking permission from the competent authority. He warned that any official found responsible for allowing any contravention in his area of jurisdiction shall be dealt strictly as per the service rules and the same shall be reflected in his service records.
