CHANDIGARH, Jan 8: Mahabodi International Meditation Centre (MIMC) in collaboration with Ladakh Student Association Chandigarh celebrated Mahakaruna (Great Compassion) at Law Auditorium Hall Punjab University Chandigarh.
Religious leaders from different faiths also took part in the celebration and highly appreciated Bikkhu Sanghasena for carrying out various humanitarian actives in Ladakh to benefit all section of society.
Eminent personalities such as Acharya Dr. Lokesh Muni, Paramjit Singh Chandok, Rajyodi Amir Chand Bhai from Brahmakumaris, D.L.N Shastri from the Pyramid Societies Spiritual Movement and many other distinguish guest were present.
The International Mahakaruna Day was celebrated by MIMC in eight major Indian cities and in South Asian countries including Myanmar, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia and also in Europe.
Prominent religious leaders and eminent spiritual practitioners from different religions, as well as political and social leaders, diplomats, senior bureaucrats and many delegates, both national and international, participated in these auspicious events.
Some of the famous singers from Ladakh Padmashri Morup Namgyal, Ladakhi Singers Dorjey Stakmo and Padma Dolkar, Faisal Khan Ashoor, Jigmet Ladakhi, Morup Namgyal and Lobzang Samstan also performed to entertain the gathering.
Padmashree Morup Namgyal was made the ambassador of Mahakaruna.
