JAMMU, July 29: The PoJK DP Front- 1947, 65 and 71 leader, Rachhpal Singh Chib has alleged that a meager relief package sanctioned by Govt during 2009 was provided to the selective families ignoring claims of many genuine families by the then Provincial Rehabilitation Officer, Jammu.
Mr Chib in a press statement claimed that the Front succeed in obtaining documents related to the Financial Package sanctioned by the Union Govt for Displaced persons of PoJK, including Mirpur, Deva, Watala, Manawar, Nah, Chhamb, Poonch, Bagh Manauti, Kotli, Palandri, Mazafarabad, Poonch etc ; all non-camp and camp DPs from the PRO Jammu through a PIL filed recently.
He said on studying these documents, it was learnt that the then PRO Jammu initiated the process of disbursement of relief/aid of August 9, 2000 selectively, leaving aside several parts of the package and families as well.
The Front Executive Committee led by Rachhpal Singh Chib has resolved to file a case in the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir against the PRO Jammu. He said the case will be pleaded by the senior advocate Sunil Sethi and the High Court will be requested to issue directions to the concerned department for quick action in this regard.
Mr Chib appealed all the displaced families of 1947, 1965, 1971 (camp and non- camp) to submit their photo-copies of the relevant documents at the earliest to the Executive Committee of the Front.
