Relief holders of Jagti list demands

JAMMU, May 29: The relief holders of Jagti in a meeting today demanded holding of elections in the camp to elect a representative body to highlight the genuine aspirations of the people.
Addressing the meeting Ajay Bhat and Sunil Pandita said the process was set in motion by former Relief Commissioner in the camp and later it was abandoned for reasons best known to the authorities.
They said by holding elections in the camp a duly representative body will come forward which can take up the migrants issues with the Government.
They also demanded redressal of genuine demands of the camp including power supply on pattern of other areas of Jammu, posting of staff in camp schools, completion of the construction of hospital building, improvement in water supply and allotment of shops to all those traders who had their small business establishments in erstwhile camps etc.
The meeting among others was attended by Ajay Dhar, Satish Kumar, Kaka Ji, Rajinder Pandita and M K Riana. It expressed grave concern over the 18 hour power curtailment in the camp.
