JAMMU, Apr 23: A delegation of Kashmiri Migrant Relief holders and over aged youth called on Minister of State for Revenue with independent charge Aijaz Ahmed Khan and Secretary Revenue, Vinod Koul and discussed the problems of the displaced people with them.
As per a release the delegation which was led by Ravinder Koul submitted a memorandum to the Minister.
It said the recent hike in cash relief was inadequate in view of the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities and demanded that the Central Government be pursued to accord sanction to the enhancement of relief as was already recommended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The memorandum said that the relief holders especially the over aged youth have no source of income except the meager cash doles given by Government. It also discussed the hike in fee by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) which has added to the problems of the relief holders.
Ravinder Koul said that the relief holders are not in a position to pay the enhanced fee and urged the Minister that the matter be taken up with HRD Ministry sympathetically. The Minister as well as Revenue Secretary assured the delegation early redressal of grievances.
S L Koul, Sanjay Raina, Anil Mattoo, Sanjay, Inder Ji and Kuldeep were the other members of the delegation.
